The Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout is the City of Alameda's defining art event. The paintout is sponsored and produced by the Frank Bette Center for the Arts a 501(c)(3) non-profit art center. It is open to all painters including water color, acrylic, oil, etc. Plein air refers to painting outdoors. Selected artists will paint at various locations in Alameda for a week and compete for over $2,000 in cash and art supply prizes. Artists interested in applying should fill out this online application, upload their pictures, pay the $35 application fee by credit card or sent in a check prior to the April 23, 2012 application deadline. Jurying by a selection committee will take place immediately after the dedline and applicants will be notified of their acceptance on May 1, 2012.
